Cornish boy, now barricaded into my bunker within Khan's urban hellscape.
Parkrunner, non league football lover, spender of too much money in record shops, espresso sipping, wine slurping, real ale drinking ,cat daddy who will never vote Tory.
He was a Labour councillor in Ashfield from 2015-2018 (he was suspended, then switched allegiances to the Tories). Anderson must enjoy these pictures.

Would be very interesting to know what Farage whispered into Trump's ear in that Friday phone call.

Judging by my recent trip to see family in a small Cornish town that's not in a scenic part of the county, vape shops, barbershops and nail bars are the only thing preventing their high street from collapsing completely. It used to be called "free market" "supply and demand" and "entrepreneurship."

Add it to the list of things Starmer should have been preparing for pre 2024 GE, and done in that sweet spot after he won a huge majority.
When someone writes a book on this Labour government it will be called. "Shoulda, woulda, coulda."

Assuming that the resignation of The Times' editor is imminent.

Private Eye ran a story a few months ago about how GB News has set up Washington office, and will run a nightly show from DC. They wrote about BBC's place in the White House Press Lobby being under threat as a result of this.

"You know, perhaps that Keir Starmer does deserve our vote. The Danish style immigration system does have merit."

The attitude and tactics of the mainly right wing MSM shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody. Why was nobody within Labour gaming this out and working on a political and comms strategy to counter this? Especially as it was pretty obvious from 2022 onwards that they were going to win the next GE.

Renter's rights>worker's rights>green energy policies. Some really good stuff that would probably be popular with voters, if the government would communicate and explain what they are that is. Instead, they actually seem embarrassed and apologetic about them.

At the last census in 2021, 96.8% of Cornish residents identified as "white, British."

The conversation about needing tax rises, and why, should have taken place in 2024. Labour would have won the GE anyway, could have made the changes when the momentum was still strong after getting a mandate. Just shows how piss weak they are with regards to political strategy, comms and delivery.

Yet our government is still using his personal social media site as one of their main communication channels.

Every Reform voter wants deregulation, but doesn't want any regulations scrapped that affects them. Every Reform voter wants benefits slashed, except the benefits they receive. See also MAGA/DOGE/gov shutdowns in the USA.

Sorry, still haunted by the sight of mildly tanked up teenagers air guitaring the opening riff of "Money For Nothing"at mid 80's discos.

I'm certain that Poppies/Rememberance Sunday weren't a thing until the mid 90's. Plenty of WW2 veterans still around then, who just wanted to forget about it. D-Day/VE Day 50th anniversary events, Gulf and Afghan conflicts and possibly Brexit have helped to bring us to today's "Poppy Rage."

We can look forward to the Daily Mail running this story for 16 consecutive days (together with accompanying pieces from their battery of columnists), which the BBC will dutifully feature in their "a look at what is making today's newspaper headlines" segments.
