A bit of everything. Dogs, art, music, nature…anything interesting really. Constantly striving to expand my horizons. Peace and happiness for all.
I can’t believe I missed this film first time round. ‘The Creator’ is beautiful, original, discomforting, and thought provoking. Extraordinary sci-fi. Extraordinary writing & production.

I rarely post but when I do, believe me, it’s because something is incredible…and this movie is incredible. Wow.

Watched the Brazilian movie ‘Carlinhos e Carlão’ (aka ‘Macho Man’).

A perfect performance by Luis Lobianco as an unhappy troglodyte literally forced into and then out of the closet to turn into a fun and loved alter ego after 7pm.

Funny, sweet, and full of redemption…10/10 would recommend!

Listening to Sting’s 1999 album ‘Brand New Day’ after a couple of years. So good. Every song is a perfect mood. He’s the ultimate musical artist.

Now this is decency. So proud of Starmer who is rising to the occasion after the loathsome last few days. Brave and exhausted Zelensky lighting up at the warmth of the PM’s greeting was wonderful.
Great pic by Reuters.

Hilarious, sweet, razor-sharp clever, and bizarre. ‘Mandy’ is awesome.

Diane Morgan - as always - is incredibly talented and funny. Mandy’s friendship with Lola (the amazing Michelle Greenidge who was in the latest Death in Paradise, I think) is lovely. So good.

“We are the scatterlings of Africa, both you and I…”
One of the greatest albums ever by Juluka back in the early 80’s.

We dreamed then of a better world. A brotherhood of Mankind. Nothing is impossible.

Beautiful. Reminiscent of Sydney Nolan’s ‘Central Australia’ which was also painted in 1950. I wonder if the two artists overlapped somehow?

Rewatching Star Trek Voyager for the umpteenth time. Perfection. Ahh…to be part of Captain Janeway’s crew!

Me wondering if I should move my data from SPSS to Excel. I know my limits.

I’m reminded on a day of contemplation of one of my favorite bands. Just A Band are best known for creating Kenya’s first viral video but this kinda masks their experimental genius fusing Afropop with soaring choruses and cross-cultural stylings. ‘Watasema’ is achingly beautiful (screenshot below).

The Khoisan people of Southern Africa believe that a woman dancing around a fire scattered embers up to the night sky and created the Milky Way. Many of Africa’s creation stories are about Woman as venerated creator.

This painted depiction of the Khoisan story is by Gavin Jantjes.

Season 1 ‘Code of Honor’ was the lowest point. Ugh…yikes. Embarrassing ep. Shatner’s Star Trek and DS9 for me.
