I just experienced part of the very long protest on high Street in Columbus, Ohio, extending from Worthington 8 miles to downtown. So many friendly people supporting the same cause. It genuinely gives me hope when I was starting to lose it.

It strikes me that shame is a sham hiding me

When faced with the powers of destruction, it is not enough to simply maintain the status quo. One should strive to create. To move, to be active and positive.

As I understand it, there are two modes of morality, one is empathy-based and one is authority-based, the difference being;
Empathy-based morality never needs to be reinforced through violence.

Authority-based morality requires persistent acts of violence.

I like a good garbage day, when it feels like some of my problems become somebody else's.

My carpeted stairwell is an example of an inverted bell curve.
Dirt tends to accumulate at the top and bottom of the stairs, but the middle of the stairs are relatively clean, because all the dirt has come off of my feet by the time I get to the middle.
