There used to be a tile server that would render in a bunch of formats. Haven't thought about this for a while but the defacto is vector tiles

Data is always the problem :)

What kinda of data are you trying to render? Like streets or houses? If you can see it somewhere it's probably very doable. I've done pretty large renders/conversions to geo/topo json.

If you have the geometry from somewhere reliable it's pretty easy to convert back and forth.
