A program like this actually exists for farm land in NB. I dont know if we have it here. I forget the exact rules but the short of it is that you can differ taxes on farm land until its use changes or a set number of years.

Sooo, it ok in Cape Breton with lower population and population density but not halifax?

Politicians dont care about doing what's right. They care about getting re-elected.

That is true beyond construction. We can easily fall into a trap of believing ourselves to be main characters, but we arent. That person doing their job. I hope they enjoy it, but they no matter what they have bills to pay and have to work to pay them. They are rarely in it to screw anyone.

Its 4 stories! If it was a mansion they would probably love it

Oh yeah. This is not the best use of the legislature's or the public's time. If they wanted a list of things to do to make communities work better, the problem wouldn't be finding items better than mobility scooters to put on it. It would be in the order to put them in and where to start

In all fairness someone in a mobility scooter did kill a person in Saint John, NB at the city market with a mobility scooter. So that is actually something to deal with rather than the mystery threat of people on bikes

Violence against women (particularly intimate partner violence) is endemic. We lost Melissa Hoskins that way and it sounds like we just lost Cindy Morvan that way too.

There are efficiencies to be had. The government is large. It does a lot. The question is how to go about it. The way to do it isn't axing jobs (that we have to accept need to be done). Its in letting those people have the discretion to do their jobs with more responsibility at lower levels

Don't forget the subscription payments for heat and air conditioning

And Facebook users are a completely reliable stand in for the whole of the community, and are the most thoughtful source of policy

What do you mean? I thought that was just good governance. Produce bad policies that produce poor outcomes then blame it on people or ignore the problem

For the number of people who do bike in spryfield, it's silly. I know we have no infrastructure in that area generally, but there are people on bikes on Herring Cove Road at almost all hours.

Have bike lock ups. Build the bike lanes. We will use them, and we will save the city/province money

So, are there giants or just a really good quality model?
September 25, 2025 at 1:16 PM
I think a lot of people do judging by the number of folks who get halfway through and stop

Thank you!

Very rarely would I sign on for roads over a new development, but that is one where we should have changed the road alignment years ago.
