In 2017, The Back Channels won the J.M. Abraham East Coast Literary Award for best collection of poetry and was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award. In 2020, Virga received a New Brunswick Book Awards. A life-long Maritimer, she lives in Hanwell, New Brunswick.

A few nearby friends dropped off some beautiful bouquets from their gardens. And I ventured to Backstreet when I picked the boy up from work and came home with this Allan Ginsberg record. Also stopped at Forest Hill cemetery to say hi to a few poets.

We did not want to prolong his suffering. He was a really good boy, sweet and affectionate with an extraordinary personality. He will be missed. December 15, 2015 — August 1, 2025.

Unfortunately, the news from pathology was not good for Lambert and we made the difficult decision to put him to sleep this afternoon. Apparently it was an aggressive form of cancer and we could tell already his quality of life was affected.
