A minor disagreement: 'A total of x' gets around the 'Don't start a sentence with a number' rule in a lot of style guides.

Lots of people somehow get Star Trek and Star Wars mixed up. I wear my 'Nerd' credentials proudly.

I'll add that my main client is still sending papers of the highest standard to me - not one instance of AI slop has slipped through the net. So it can be done.

From personal experience, I can tell you that freelance copy-editing work has fallen off a cliff in the last year. When publishers have 30% profit margins, you'd think that they'd apply at least that very inexpensive level of quality control.

Bond is revealed to be a Time Lord, rescued at the last moment by an unseen Tardis. This explains why his appearance keeps changing and provides a basis for the next 007 to be a Black woman.

There is a whole section on the BBC website headed 'Climate': www.bbc.co.uk/news/topics/...

They may not give it enough prominence - and they still use 'climate change' rather than 'climate crisis' - but the BBC does mention it frequently and it does accept the scientific consensus.

Easy - just pronounce GIF as "jif" in public often enough and BIG J will find you. I was in my Jarden when they popped out from behind the Jeraniums.

That is factually correct.

I've been in BIG J's pocket since before BIG J even existed.

The creator of the GIF format said, in 2013: "It's pronounced 'jif' not 'gif'". See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pronunc...
