Feedback and conversation hurts scammers who are incidentally the only people benefiting from the move to FAB

I'm honestly hoping it makes people rethink relying on so many temporal effects, they very often end up looking like major ass. Bring back the entire image being reconsutrcuted from scratch every frame

A lot of implementations of TAA do indeed look pretty ugly, and it seems like gamers have put a name to the things they've been complaining about. Prepare to hear nonsensical takes about how TAA has ruined gaming or something

We are full remote, I live in Tokyo and I'm definitely not expecting anyone to move over here to make a poopy indie game lol
Gonna be tough, but I know it's possible. Thanks, fam

building a team, currently 4 people maming a vertical slice part-time but once we're ready for a publisher pitch we're gonna ramp up and require some actual management. I was told straight up that I'm a much better creative director than a producer, so I'm gonna need to find someone for that.

I need someone to:
- Talk to the publisher and manage business plans
- Manage our budget
- Help with hiring
- Deal with deadlines and day to day planning
In other words, a producer. I'm obviously not gonna explain that in a tweet. Or whatever posts are called here

If you have to ask what a producer does idk about that man

manage the team and plan and such, I suck at yelling at people even if I'm paying them

These are the final results before I got bored
left: deferred rendering + post processing and fog (and no transparent objects lol)
right: forward rendering

I'm a solo dev, would be appreciated

legit that's how I feel when I figure something difficult out, it's like completing a really long puzzle game level, same part of the brain being tickled

gamedev (indie) is best treated as a very difficult and long puzzle game where the reward is actually creating something cool and/or useful instead of just an achievement badge

it does feel like there's a ton of devs on here but not too many of the target audience, marketing for indies will probably have to be done back on twitter for a good while still

Well yeah, I mean that's what they expect to see when launching the game. Steam telling you "full controller support" and the game not even showing the correct button prompts for your common gamepad is kinda frustrating and might lead to bad reviews
October 19, 2024 at 11:45 PM
I think Steam does a decent job at explaining what "full controller support" means to users, so valve's decription is pretty spot on. They do usually also expect the game to have native support for the main ones (xbox/ps/switch pro/steam deck)
