This is the kind of engine I could do with on my tandem bike. Sadly, instead, they use 9 of these to launch rockets. Out filming at Skyrora, a Scottish rocket manufacturer today #space #rockets

You're nicked! ... if you don't tune in to this week's My Kind of Town. It's in Peterhead where I learned about one of the former major employers; the Peterhead Prison. It's now a museum but was home to some of Scotland's most notorious prisoners. On the BBC Scotland channel, 8pm tomorrow night

We've been flat to the mat this summer, as I've been throwing my weight around in Alloa for #mykindoftown . Tomorrow night, at 8pm on the BBC Scotland channel and iPlayer, it's a new town and yet another new outfit.

No tablet or fudge was harmed in the making of this - but some was sampled by myself for quality control. Helen at the Ochil Fudge Company oversaw my trial shift. Eventually, I cracked it. Here’s a sneak peak at the new My Kind of Town in Alloa, on BBC Scotland channel Thursday at 8pm and on iPlayer

Knock knock.

Who's there?

It's me again on BBC Radio 4's #InTouch programme.

I've been to the #EdinburghFestival and spoken to some visually-impaired performers. It's on air at 20:40 this evening on #bbcradio4. Here's a taster of tonight's pack.

No heckling here.

There's been some dressing down on this year's My Kind of Town as opposed to dressing up on day 4 of My Kind of Town filming in #Alloa. I tried to get Major's views on me doing judo, but he was tight lipped and unimpressed

Day 3 of My Kind of Town is in the can - and I use that word deliberately. We spoke to some people on Alloa’s high street about their thoughts on the town. Then we went to a brewery to hear about the beer-making past, present, and future of #Alloa
May 22, 2025 at 9:30 AM
Day 2 in #Alloa is complete and in the bag. I heard a ghost story, got to help plant some flowers, and spoke to a musician who's written a song celebrating the town. Oh, and we might have caught a tan

Day 1 complete! My Kind of Town is up and running, and we had a great first day filming in Alloa, visiting a charity that helps tackle loneliness and one of the town's best-established shops

We're getting ready to film "My Kind of Town" for BBC Scotland in Alloa from next Monday. Looking forward to getting started, but in the meantime here's a quick catch up I had with Eric from Wimpy Park Community Group

There are calls to make Scotland's National Entitlement Card free to use after midnight. Jeremy Balfour, a Scottish Conservative MSP, was also denied the use of his card on a night bus
April 14, 2025 at 3:24 PM
Disabled people are saying travelling on Scotland's night buses is a complicated picture. Some companies allow you to use free travel cards. Others don't. We went to hear from Andrew, who was caught out by night buses in Edinburgh.

The Scottish Ambulance Service says the app is a vital tool for them, to improve survival rate of heart attack patients. But they need more volunteers, especially in rural areas
January 21, 2025 at 11:39 AM
But is there a #community solution? The GoodSAM app notifies local volunteers, trained in CPR. The idea is to get hands on chest as quickly as possible, as paramedics are dispatched. Chris is a volunteer in Dundee
