Book lover, stuck loving the bands I grew up with. FND/SFN/EM and Chronic Pain Exister… Veteran fighting for rights of fellow UK Veterans. Studying for BA(Hons) in History.
Same problem in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re still having Vets fighting against the Ministry Of Defence because of disabilities caused by Nuclear Testing in the 60’s. Our Govt won’t recognise GWS and I fought for 5yrs for my disability pension purely because they could refuse. Vets deserve better.

Cheers good sir! Chester yesterday and then out for lunch today. Bit knackered but it’s been good fun!

I didn’t realise I wasn’t following the group as I was already following @alexchurchill.bsky.social

Enjoyed chatting with people at the stall at WHWF4 back in July. Looking forward to WHWFV and hope to see you there.

I’ve enjoyed all of Stuart’s books. The Seven Deaths Of Evelyn Hardcastle was brilliant.

I’m here if you ever want to drop a DM. I don’t know what else to say but that there’s always a bit of company from this end.

Mate, I’m so sorry to read this. Is there any way the oncologists can help you out in any way? We’ve only just met virtually but, I empathise with you every day. I hope things improve for you.

Do you have some magical clock that gives you 48hrs in 24? 🤣 How do you do it? My brain is currently mashed by just studying for a couple of hours a day!

And i would love to visit and explore Ukraine.

Plus, who decides if we’re disabled enough?
November 26, 2024 at 5:55 PM
Biden just needs to release it all to Ukraine. Otherwise, we know exactly where it will end up.

Or, too old to care?
November 26, 2024 at 5:44 PM
Plus, if you are disabled, life is expensive! Especially if your partner is your carer and is tied to the ridiculously small amount for Carer’s Allowance. It costs approximately £4kp/w for full time professional care. My wife does it for £81.90p/w. Pay people a proper income for caring!!

Shocked, I tells ya!! SHOCKED!!

Good luck

I’ve recently returned to education to gain a degree and couldn’t agree more with your thread. Finding my own ‘academic voice’ to present my own thoughts and arguments in papers is hugely important and rewarding to me. It’s that reward that keeps me studying.

And, rightfully so! It looks awesome!

This is a brilliant idea! I’ll be checking out @404ink.bsky.social as well as my local independent bookshop in time for Christmas.

Orion is definitely my choice! It’s also my son’s middle name!
