Through two episodes, this season of THE LAST OF US is very reminiscent of THE WALKING DEAD's pacing and tone. Not a bad thing, just different.

Love HACKS but it has some of the worst CGI I have ever seen in any format.

I rewatched RED ROCKET and I’m more convinced than ever that Mikey Madison deserved the Oscar. ANORA does not get any mainstream recognition without her performance.

This is not a dis on Sean Baker. I liked RR more tbh - but its just a waaaaaay more “indie” film - as are his others.

When I'm experiencing anxiety, I just put on this movie and it all goes away.

That scene in THE MASTER where Freddie Quell just drives off into the horizon, I finally get it.

Great to see GRINDHOUSE back on the big screen for its 18th(!!!) anniversary. DEATH PROOF remIns a top 3 or 4 Tarantino for me. Absolutely incredible sound mix today.

Even in my 40s, the scene in FRANCES HA where Frances runs around the LES trying to get cash from an ATM to pay for dinner remains relatable on some level.

Up late watching MANHATTAN for the fourth time this week.

Re-watching GREENBERG. Noah Baumbach does LA - by way of Hal Ashby (or maybe Mike Nichols).

Rewatching MANHATTAN and I think this actually is the superior film to ANNIE HALL. HALL is both funnier and more heartbreaking at times - but MANHATTAN offers a better, tighter story, fully realized supporting characters, that incredible B&W cinematography - and Gershwin.

MANHATTAN (1979). A great movie that is also somehow overrated. Probably not in the Woody Allen Top 5 for me but a stellar performance from Muriel Hemingway and arguably the best cinematography of Allen's filmography. Sometimes the immature option is actually the more mature choice.

This finale scene of ANNIE HALL is always so great to return to. From the cars to the costumes to the Golden Crest to the KISS billboard, to eating at The Source - it's just a wonderful slice of time and place in an incredibly critical moment.

The line in ANNIE HALL where Alvy says, in response to Shelly Duvall's story about Altamont, "I was once at an Alice Cooper concert where six people were rushed to the hospital with bad vibes" is a joke that went from funny to dated to incomprehensible all the way back to funny again.

Rewatching ANNIE HALL. It's interesting how films like this and JERRY MAGUIRE both work overtime in the first 15 mins to get you on the side of Alvy/Jerry through voice-over, narration and breaking the fourth wall. King of a necessity for the plot buy-in,which hinges on the main character POV.

Rewatching ALONG CAME POLLY. 2000 comedy + Philip Seymour Hoffman + Ben Stiller = Very underrated.
