"if" "might" ENOUGH WITH ALLOWING WEASEL WORDS TO BE PUBLISHED IN PURPORTEDLY SERIOUS ESSAYS. This guy has *literally* made up a person to be mad at and editors are still treating it as serious writing?

Just up-and-leaving does plenty to gum up the works, it doesn't need to be an elaborate 12-point plan to sabotage things clandestinely.

Also important to note, a large number of these limbo situations aren't tough 50-50 toss-ups with big trade-offs. When explained, people overwhelmingly agree that "this person should be let in, it's just common sense". Dreamers have like 80% support!

Hitting range balls with a pitcher of beer (hopefully this is still a thing) at Potomac is every American's god given right.

Well, you see, I attended a conference that included a one hour session about incorporating storytelling ideas into my work presentations.

Ergo, I am entitled to be considered a master artiste.

And measurably improve the quality of life in every single urban + suburban area (rurals, you’ll have to just live with the safety improvements or just get the legislature to raise speed limits on rural roads.

City of Charlottesville seeing an opportunity to inconvenience motorists for no reason at all: tell me more!

When I lived in South Carolina, I would email the people who wrote "pedestrian struck" cop stenography to point out that when people weren't in a crosswalk, the nearest marked crosswalk was [distance]. Typically 1/4 or 1/2 a mile-adding up to an extra 1/2 or full mile in distance just to cross!

I'm personally excited for it because it definitely works for us. But, when I was reading again about the man killed down by the Chicken Strip, I immediately thought about how we were relegated to building one-off infrastructure that is functionally useless to him and anyone else down there.

I don't know exactly who needs to hear this, but: Avoidance of harm to yourself is a moral consideration. It's not *the only* moral consideration by any means (there are plenty of situations where I would harm my career for a greater good), but please consider it and incorporate it wherever you can!

I connected a WiFi enabled solenoid valve to a hose and set up a script on my phone so when the camera detected a squirrel it got blasted with the hose briefly. It was very effective.

Huh, I wonder if climate change might have a downstream impact on material prosperity? Well, anyway, I'm 12 years old and can't keep this train of thought going any longer. Drill, baby, drill.

I was physically abroad at the time and living out-of-state and I still remember reading about it that same day. It certainly hit some level of national or international news. But it certainly didn't remain a story for long outside of Virginia/Charlottesville/UVA.
