My wife and I were talking once about how IASIP has sort of like sub-genres of episodes: 'The Gang Settles an Argument', 'The Gang Encounters Normies', or 'The Gang Goes on a Trip'. But the king of these sub-genres is 'The Gang Puts on a Show'.

It's baffling to me why so many other parents complain about it

My daughter understands math better at 9 than I did at 12. I knew how to do math through rote memorization, but she knows the concepts. Word problems are less perplexing to her and concepts carry over more readily. It's also easier to see how what she is learning now will help her learn algebra.

Every day feels like I'm walking the razor's edge to only be a little bit stupid

Maybe this is just the part of my brain that has Warhammer 40k fungus growing out of it, but I'm cool with Samus having some kind of tight-fitting bodysuit with ports that connect to her armor. But yeah, agree that it should be functional-looking and not fetish, and she should be big and jacked.

It's such a great bit that Jack is too dumb and up-his-own-ass to realize that he is Wang's sidekick

More shows should have their own Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf episode

I may have enjoyed this more than you, but you hit something bang-on that I've found frustrating about GDT's work. It often feels less than the sum of its parts. The man works with subject matter he clearly loves, but it seems like he can't translate that into something exceptional.

Major props for that but I would love to see their noms de guerre

I remember my grandmother, who grew up dirt poor on a farm in Arkansas in the 40s and who only had a sixth grade education, watching Maury in the 90s and being disgusted with how he talked to and about trans people.

A show so enamored with its own bullshit that it ran away fast from any good joke it happened to stumble across

They had this on the tv at the pizza place by my office last week. Even with no sound on, I was compelled to order a second slice and a beer just to carry me through to the scene with Chigurh and Wells

I've been turning over in my mind the giant relief of Medusa in the tower and what it could mean. Feels like the Freudian interpretation of Medusa is a part of it, and the poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley that Mary had published after his death is another.

Thankfully, if you soak the 16yr-old in Simple Green overnight, you can scrub the paint right off with an old brush!

Mischief Makers is absolute indelible joy. Played it nearly 30 years ago on a weekend rental, and it still clatters around in my mind.
