It’s been a thrilling (and somewhat tiring) week but I’m left with a sense that so many people are giving all they can to fight the power of Musk, the far-right & the malign influence of Big Tech over our online spaces, our democracies, our economies & our lives.

Then in a surreal turn of events @markruffalo.bsky.social @johncusack.bsky.social @alexwinter.com & @rosie.com joined me in the final hours to scream at the good billionaires out there to “f*ing do something already and donate to FreeOurFeeds.com ”

Luckily Jayde Adams was on hand to give me a well-needed laugh as we speculated about why Musk is obsessed with being funny

Then @cultexpert.freedomofmind.com & Dr Melisa Basol warned us that we need to make sure our friends & neighbours aren’t victims of toxic content on today’s social media

@carolecadwalla.bsky.social , Shoshana Zuboff, @yanisvaroufakis.bsky.social & Jay Griffiths zoomed out and reminded us what’s at stake if we let the tech bros take too much, as digital authoritarianism looms over us.

@jonronson.bsky.social told me that Musk might care too much about how people think about him to be a psychopath, @rosie.com and @jemima.bsky.social took me through what might be behind his relationship with Donald Trump - daddy issues anyone?

I was taken on a journey from his traumatic upbringing in Apartheid South Africa, with guidance from @kuminaidoo.bsky.social, to his years trying to make it as what @alexwinter.com described as a “vulture capitalist” in the US
