What worries me is Reform plus Tories are on 49%. A pact in 28/29 seems in the interests of the Tories, as it keeps them alive and hopes that Reform is a flash in the pan around its leader.

I'm thinking that the cancellations are the people who use AI themselves and see the statement that it won't be used as an attack on their rights. IE the cancellations are made by those who think that it's a value judgment on them as individuals.

I hope that you explained that they were not portakabins but TURDIS.

(not my original joke)

The David McWilliams podcast covered this a couple of weeks ago. Quite frightening how it's all one big bet.

It's mental, and I say that as a person who scuba dived regularly 30y ago.

I agree, and both of those views are present in Warhammer in all its varieties.

Having read Chris Dillow's piece on competence and just finished Dan Davies' Unaccountability Machine, "Your Party"'s failure to organise and set goals is entirely in line with the model.

Rather than politics, I'd say the main difference is Britain's culture of cynicism. It was endemic up until the 90s as many (not even most) teenagers began to become aspirational and consumerist. Since 2008 though we've been trundling down the slope towards despair.

I read Dillow's piece with the word POSIWID hovering in my mind, especially that last paragraph. We have no way of ridding ourselves of these people until a group of competent individuals appear and rebuild the system.
An incompetent system can't challenge those with power, and they know it.

The first things that occurred to me are that they don' have a good process for medium term planning and that gives the strong impression that it is all being made up on the hoof.

Make it stop!

We both just guessed. Is he grey or red?

I'm thinking a squirrel.

My son says a snake.

That's very good looking. Still looks modern.

I just think of Smashie and Nicey when I hear that.

It's funny how these neologisms spread, almost virus-like. I've been guilty of similar things in the past and like you, I find that they grate and I'm angry with myself for being influenced by fashion. Consequence: Your next saving throw is made with disadvantage.

Surely that's a tell?

If there's a jury then they'd struggle to select one as the starting point for each team would be whether the 2020 election was fair or not. That would also extend to the judges too I expect.

One of the rides would be how to make a chicken cassoulet with a few tins of beans.

I do love Len Deighton's unnamed hero and I do keep going back to them. I thought that Joe Cole did okay, even although there were a few liberties taken.
