That all does sound cool. Our DM made some similar changes, tightening things up a bit, grabbing other RL stuff, focusing on Strahd's connection to The Land in neat ways. I knew a lot of the 2e/3e lore, but still got a lot of surprises. And after so long, it was great to actually finish it!

Ooh, I'd be interested to hear how your Strahd game goes. We just finished that campaign in January after four-plus years. (Just gotta finish migrating the campaign journal to my website now.)
