Union official, champion of equality, freedom and lost causes, professional cynic but my heart's not in it.
In case you haven't noticed it's a war zone with hundreds of thousands of people displaced from their homes, refugees in other countries or fighting on the front lines. Let Putin withdraw his forces back to Russia and your argument might make more sense.

Wait until he starts to create his very own "special police force" to enforce his exclusive interests... the irony is they'll come for your precious guns first MAGA people because the last thing a dictator wants is a heavily armed population when the pain starts to bite.

What do I think? I think since they lost in the final in 2022 it's unlikely to be the first time they've reached the knockout stages since 2010...

Windmills are wind powered (usually flour) mills or sometimes water pumping stations, very pretty but pretty much obsolete now, wind turbines on the other hand are used to convert wind energy into electricity, the fact that Trump doesn't understand the difference doesn't surprise me.

I think you should be more worried about a man with the ear of your own president making fascist salutes during the inauguration or is the target of fascism the only important consideration because....history would suggest that doesn't end well.

There's the shame of using X then another level of shame involved in paying for it, I wonder how many people try to hide the payment details from their partner or more likely... parents.

The UK is problematic as hell regarding Brexit, it's a basket case of political contradiction where a huge chunk of the electorate want good jobs, investment and cheap goods but are profoundly insular, suspicious and reactionary and don't feel they should give anything up for that.

There's a lifetime's work for a psychiatrist in that one head. Is it possible to have all the personality disorders at once?

Forever tethered to Westminster they will be constantly pulled towards the right following the overall political trend in England and will wither and die in Scotland.
December 29, 2024 at 5:29 PM
If Labour want power in Scotland they will have to disavow the Westminster party and truly become Scottish Labour fighting for Scotland, a Scottish Labour party with no ties to Westminster and progressive socialist values would thrive but they lack the courage.

And the people who voted for Trump in the belief that he was a disruptor ready to change the status quo and make America great again say what?
December 24, 2024 at 7:28 PM
He's not my anything and that doesn't help, I'm talking about the political science behind it, if you don't understand that you're doomed to make the same mistakes over and over, in the end overall votes meant zero in 2017, 2019 and 2024.
December 14, 2024 at 5:36 PM
This reductionist argument ignores the fact that Tory voters were motivated to vote against Corbyn, in a two party state winning an election is a balance between creating apathy in your opposition's support base and engaging your own. Corbyn got it wrong, sad but true.

Farage is a contrarian and the last thing he wants is the responsibility of real power. He's just the pub bore who has all the reasons for failure but none of the answers.

99% of all the people asked didn't understand the real meaning of most of those isms especially nationalism...

Are they really high risk targets worthy of expensive extra security? You could possibly see where Blair and Boris could have made some serious enemies through Iraq and COVID but that's their problem and the rest probably couldn't fill a page in the history books between them.

He threatened his own country, he just isn't smart enough to realise yet.
December 6, 2024 at 10:17 AM
It does but the unintended consequence of paywall news is the increased dissemination of unverified opinion based clickbait funded by ads. So that quality news is increasingly drowned out.

I know It's easier to make it personal than do the critical thinking but he could be a complete shithead and it doesn't matter, there's a guy facing 15 years in prison for a stitch up political non-crime. You're either comfortable with that fact or you're not.
December 3, 2024 at 6:34 PM
So he's in a high security prison waiting to be extradited to face a possible 15 year sentence for allegedly plotting to throw a stink bomb 15 years ago in an attempt to stop a whaling boat from driving another species towards extinction? I'm glad Interpol is making the world a safer place...

While it would be difficult but not impossible for a fish eagle to lift a small new born lamb it would be unlikely that it would attempt to carry it back whole to its eyrie, this kill and dismemberment would leave evidence of which there appears to be none.
December 2, 2024 at 2:44 PM
There are a lot of causes for lamb mortality including weather and disease or just poor livestock control but farmers tend to prefer non-culpable reasons like predators, I will say that raptors are partial to placenta which might explain some of the sightings around newborn lambs.
December 2, 2024 at 10:16 AM
Lambs like any animals will sometimes die from genetic health conditions that are not always easily recognisable,I've reported dead lambs to farmers and the response was "it often just happens", predators will not turn down a free meal, lamb remains in a nest doesn't mean the eagle killed the lamb.
