Dear Conservatives,
If you think leaving the ECHR is the key to ending illegal immigration, how come you didn’t tackle it during your 14 years in power?

The real question isn’t whether religion controls people, but whether truth liberates them. Christianity claims a God who serves, a king who dies, and a love that conquers fear. That message has outlasted every empire built on control.

Logically, ‘religion equals control’ assumes bad motives explain every belief. But countless believers choose faith freely, often at personal cost. Control demands obedience; Christianity calls for conscience, repentance, and love. That’s freedom, not coercion

Historically, Christian ethics gave rise to hospitals, universities, and the idea that every person bears divine dignity. Even critics of faith still live within that moral inheritance. Control doesn’t build compassion, it exploits. Faith transformed.
October 25, 2025 at 2:52 PM
If Christianity were a control system, it failed spectacularly. The gospel demanded that rulers humble themselves, slaves be treated as brothers, and wealth be shared with the poor. Those are threats to hierarchy, not tools of it.

Power based systems control by force; Christianity spread by witness. Unarmed fishermen, women, and slaves convinced an empire, not through armies or propaganda, but through compassion, service, and courage whilst enduring suffering. That’s moral conviction, not manipulation.
October 24, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Religion was made to control people’ is a catchy slogan—but history and logic say otherwise. Christianity began not in palaces or parliaments, but in persecution. Its founder was executed by the state, not served by it. That’s the opposite of control.”

What does loving your neighbour mean to you?
October 22, 2025 at 8:51 AM
How can Christian’s fight systemic racism today? How can we do so with integrity and avoid accusations of ‘empty virtue signalling’?
October 21, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Christianity is a personal commitment to following Christ and living out his values. Cultural Christianity is a hollowed out pale imitation of the Christianity Christ modelled.
October 5, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Christ’s model: is love, not hate. “Masculine Christianity” rallying against you neighbours ignores His commands (Matt 22:39). A hollowed out faith creates division, not disciples. Follow Jesus way of love and humility not hatred and fear.
October 5, 2025 at 8:51 AM
Jesus loved all, even his foes. “Masculine Christianity” pushing hate over mercy betrays Christ’s call (Matt 5:44). A Christianity in name only without His heart is empty and powerless. Let’s model His love, not nationalism.

If you wonder about the value of the ECHR ask why people like Churchill enacted it. Then take a good hard look at Putin’s Russia and Trumps America and ask yourself who openly admires them both?

The UK can’t deport hundreds of thousands overnight. Courts are already backlogged. Detention centres are overcrowded. The Home Office struggles with basic asylum claims—how could it handle mass removals? This isn’t policy; it’s chaos.

Watching things unfold i n the USA, the incessant headlines about a rightwing activist shot dead vs the silence about school kids also shot dead. The POTUS excusing Russia’s illegal attack on Poland as a mistake and the US extrajudicial killing of 11 people in a boat. This isn’t normal.

Reform like to make a lot of big promises, for a party with <1% of MP’s and who’ve lost 9 by-elections

There’s been a lot of fuss about U turns this week. It’s worth us reflecting on the truth that every party makes U turns and some were really needed👇

Watching the leader of a once great nation trying to make it great again by carving chunks out of its constitution and turning tariffs on and off like a shorting disco light.

Christianity shaped modern ethics! The Bible’s emphasis on love, forgiveness, and the dignity of all people—rooted in being made in God’s image—formed the basis for Western moral thought. #Christianity

Scientific research flourished under Christianity! Monks preserved knowledge, and scholars like Newton and Mendel, driven by faith, explored God’s orderly universe. The idea of a rational creation fueled discovery! #Christianity

Universal education has Christian roots! Pioneers like the Church Fathers and later Protestants, like Luther, pushed for literacy so all could read the Bible. This laid the groundwork for public schooling for everyone. #Christianity

When Reform UK bangs on about getting rid of DEI (EDI in the UK!) These are some of the things it would impact: Disabled access ramps, elevators, BSL interpreters, accessible websites, braille services…

Universities were born from Christianity! Medieval Christian cathedral schools and monastic centers evolved into the first universities, like Bologna (1088) and Oxford, driven by a quest to understand God’s creation. #Christianity
