yeah that's fair, there seem to more choices for fedi implementation also, but the atproto ecosystem is still young... I do think PDS private data is on the roadmap but not sure if that will translate to a feature like you're looking for

ATproto seems like it would not easily support this but it probably wouldn't hurt to have an appview-enforced implementation. Posts wouldn't *actually* be private though so it might be tricky to make sure that's very obvious to users
