She didn't lie. She said she was wearing pajamas. She was, in fact, wearing pajamas.

*YOU* cited the research paper. FFS it's right there in the first paragraph of the Abstract!!

Why does the test datasheet itself say otherwise?

I haven't seen any hysterical self publicizing from the defense side of things. A couple of press conferences is all. Compared to the shreeking headlines, numerous interviews by Prosecution witnesses and journalists cashing in on the guilty verdicts, the defense has been a model of professionalism.

Here's a few samples.

This is Dr. Harkness on Baby E, denying that a baby that's lost a quarter of his blood volume from an unknown bleed constitutes an emergency. How much evidence of incompetence do you need?
February 19, 2025 at 2:39 PM
This is testimony from the trial. The doctor that intubated baby K with the wrong size tube didn't know what the leak reading meant on the ventilator!

Evans was the only one that independently concluded babies were deliberately harmed. Nobody else saw anything but natural causes and Letby's coincidental presence. Without him, there are no murder charges.

Did the jury see this?
January 30, 2025 at 3:53 PM
The defense lawyer did pick up on it, called him out on the stand, and even asked the judge to toss him out as a witness. Did you not know any of this? Here is Ben Myers calling out Dewi Evans for making up his diaphragm splinting theory, another diagnosis he has since abandoned.

These are the relevent parts you appear to have missed when misrepresenting what his paper showed. The fact that the chances of a suspicious event occuring on Letby's shift was 100% is proof not of her guilt, but of selection bias when assembling the chart.

He had access.

You seem awful certain of her guilt for someone that's apparently only just now hearing some of the most publicly known facts of the case.

Easily missed. Jury members seeing headlines like this on a daily basis, yet aren't allowed to look up medical facts on their own will lead to a less than reliable outcome.

He also said this, once again demonstrating that there is no evidence one way or another. Dewi Evans is the only one that affirmatively came up with the air embolism theory. Nobody else arrives at that conclusion but him.
October 18, 2024 at 11:30 AM
Compared to doctors' evolving recollections of events from years prior, or Dewi Evans magical splinting diaphragm diagnosis? No.
October 14, 2024 at 11:40 AM
I understand the Thirlwall investigation doing it, since it was established on the premise that she was guilty. What's crazy is that this is also how the initial police investigation was conducted, too.

It certainly looks to me like these cases were hand-picked by the doctors in order to target Letby in a criminal investigation when they themselves had no medical evidence supporting their suspicion.

Other accounts like these thoughtful and meticulously researched pieces? Have you read the Guardian and Telegraph pieces this week? The press was very lopsided before the trial, but with media restrictions lifted, more investigative works are coming out that cast doubt on the merits of the case.
