Every interview I've read or viewed from the 'Crown Prince' indicates no plan of any kind only that everyone will sing kumbaya after an unspecified amount of 'no boots on the ground' intervention and death.

So much of the history of American propaganda is a reiterated mirror of 'If God be for us, who can be against us?' Examining reality for yourself is weak or seditious. Simply believing in things you have already accepted without examination is the way.

Politically it's probably still a losing position. ICE as intended to be serves a necessary function. Nuance about replacement is an uphill battle. Real requirements, ie: training, psychological profiles, oversight as you might want with any policing agency is still the real world solution imho.

I used to wonder at the constant performative nature of the GOP. Picking fights to lose in vivid color, to be thwarted by made up conspiracies constantly. IMHO too many people want reassurance rather than plans, preferably attached to individuals with vision and leadership yes, but actual plans.

Any concept that there will be an amicable reckoning and sudden enlightenment is truly a fantasy. The truth or the lie will live and it will shape all that follows after. Rewriting history and even reality is easy if you never cared about what actually happened anyway.

Decades of caveman politics where the big strong Republicans wrap everything in the flag and shout 'Weak!' over and over. Repeat it enough until whatever minimal understanding of foreign policy made it into the public sphere is just a background of drums and death.

Agreed, but "amplified" seems a vast understatement. There are far, far too many people with zero information hygiene. We are loathe to even attempt to realistically tackle the problem. At best you get some Ms. Manners horseshit where everyone gets to lie continually but behind a smiley mask.

2 more years for a total of three. I personally see no reason not to make the switch when you have new assets to onboard and no real improvement made. It's a good timing for a full on reset.
