What is life, but an anxiety disorder of matter?

Baby blueskier.

They/them/she/her/he/him/it/its.

Here to chew some gum and harvest some right-wing tears, and the gum is AFG.

I find it much too easy to believe that the bipartisan animosity towards TikTok is less to do with China, and more to do with suddenly needing a whole new level of control over the narrative concerning certain events in the Middle East.

About masks, though...

Hypothetically accepting the official story about how they found him, Luigi could easily still be out there if only he hadn't taken his mask down just that once.

I'm sure there was already a LOT of money invested in facial recognition tech prior to COVID, right?

So what eventually happened with this?

The original post and some of the reposts have replies disabled now...

On the flip side, conservative messaging always starts at a disadvantage with any audience member who has an IQ over 85 or so.

I'm sure that's why they're so keen on lowering the median.

Longer life expectancy was also a huge boost to their audience, which they seem intent on reversing...

How about we don't let anyone forget that the 'E' in DOGE stands for what Brian Thompson used to do for a living?

Will it make it into the Wayback Machine, I wonder?

Seems like it's heading for full takedown from WaPo servers long before there's a chance for that. Whoever didn't like it isn't waiting around.

Sort of already happened... Project Iceworm.

Maybe he's just heard of it too.

Holy fucking hell, Guardian... You "analyzed" WHAT and drew WHAT conclusions?

Is there NOTHING ELSE significant about him and his actions, nothing else that stands out, other than his being rich and white?

Is he a good case study in any way for the point you are trying to push?

Watch your brand.

Dubya? Really...?

It says a lot (and none of it good) that he was your only option.

OK, but does Christmas still happen even if they aren't paid fairly?

If not, then you better send them some effective unionizers.

And some guardian angels to protect the unionizers from the boot boys.

Or perhaps you could just send a Luigi to Jeff?

One prominent lesson of today's USA is that if you don't either look after the stupid and backward properly... or take away their franchise entirely... then sooner or later they will hand unrestrained power to a psychopath.

More seriously - given the massive theocrat presence in the incoming administration, we can probably expect what crumbs that there are to be strongly targeted at supporting child-rearing by "traditional families", especially religious ones, especially religious ones of the correct skin tone.

Even in law. When lawmakers want to know what millions of angry idiots believe, they hold a public vote or a consultation.

Seems odd for an academic to think that a forum which can be easily dominated by millions of angry idiots who are wrong about nearly everything would be more useful than one which can't, for anything BUT the study of millions of angry idiots.

You seem optimistic about what will be in the history books.

"Professor"?

Emeritus at Donnie's latest university, that I might believe...

Not to mention that a guy like Muskrat is inevitably surrounded by yes-men...

Tech bros (some overlap there) in the "move fast and break things" school do like to unleash stuff that they can't control, whilst entertaining a kind of doublethink that they can control it.
December 8, 2024 at 4:31 AM
Pseudo-rationalist bros have very obvious blind spots.

They think that they're scientifically literate, and they aren't.

Dataism? They've probably drunk the kool-aid, then smashed the jug over their own head.

Well, never discount that he might be a pawn in someone else's 11D chess game. But he has sounded off a bit like a guy who was suddenly considering that people might realise that the E in DOGE stands for what Brian Thompson used to do for a living.
