Judge Locke, for example, REJECTED an agreed-to sentence reduction APPROVED by IRB prosecutors under DA Rollins in an outrageous wrongful conviction case.

The man was home on a sentence stay and, because Locke refused the agreement, had to go back to prison just to see the Parole Board. #mapoli

October 2 was International Wrongful Conviction Day. Here are some images!!
Today is International #WrongfulConvictionDay. We have a chance this legislative session to change the compensation law in Massachusetts to better support wrongfully convicted people after all they’ve suffered. If you live in MA, please ask your legislators to support S1132/H1965. #mapoli

There is no end to the false narratives the government will tell about people to justify oppression. But we must focus on whether the government should EVER have the power to violate human rights. If the answer is “sometimes,” then we have given officials the license to manufacture these excuses.

Stay the course freedom fighters!!!
Fighting injustice always comes with resistance & sometimes retaliation by those in power. That is intentional, to try to get us to back down, cower, be silent. It is an illusion to think that compliance or complacency will keep us safe. Freedom is worth the fight; our safety is in our strength.

People sometimes ask exonerees, "How did you SURVIVE all those decades in prison, knowing you were innocent, with people in power working to keep you in a cage?" Some point to the support of their loved ones, many to the importance of resistance, and all to the necessity of hope. Wisdom for us all.

We KNOW you all need to watch something hopeful, important, and life-affirming at this moment. Take a look at what exoneree James Watson is doing. If he can do this after 41 years wrongfully incarcerated, we can confront the injustice we see today:

It’s unsurprising that an attorney general/prosecutor is doing everything he can to prevent someone from telling their story of wrongful conviction to the legislature. We face resistance at every level, regardless of the strength of the evidence of innocence.
