right now i’m rereading all my books, looking for more books and resources and generally “feeling” my way around rebuilding my practice, it’s going to take a while but i’m doing a whole load of unlearning that is has to be reconstructionalist or “done the right way”

i think in the beginning i was hoping for a more “structured” religion like christianity and got misled by misinformation online, so now through fear i am very hesitant to pick up new practices because i hadn’t seen the red flags previously (i’m also autistic and struggle with contexts/etc)

when i first started practicing i found myself desperately trying to find “rules to live by” and got into the NNV and havamal as ‘scripture’… then i learnt about how those came about and the neo-nazi/racist connotations so now i read with a distance between me and the writing

i hope you don’t mind me asking, do you use the havamal as a “guide to life” like some may use other ‘religious texts’? :) i’ve always been curious how others practice as i’m very very isolated in my own practice

i really enjoy crawford’s translation of the poetic edda, it feels more accessible than the others (granted, i haven’t read any other ones fully) thank you for sharing these :)
