used a tutorial from xhs to make my umamusume ears 🐎 fairly simple but requires patience and imbuing your very essence with hairspray #cosplaywip

I couldn't finish the school uniform bc this wig took like 4 days to make LMAO

Machu was fun to wear between the excited machu call outs and confused "I know you but who are you" reactions 😂

Otakon day 1!

Backpack complete! Heavily referenced @fiercekitten.com's dreamer backpack video for materials and general steps. The stapler tip (and the fact I even had one) was a *lifesaver* 💃

sanded some resin prints from coco 💎 filled them with uv resin for tint and a more gemmy look. Bonus is that it'll magnify whatever I use for backing 🥸

Closing out with a collage of fun new tools I made heavy use of! Impulse bought a new (expensive) ironing table after my $15 one dropped my very hot iron onto a shopping bag and I have no regrets. Names and deets are in alt 😀

I went out of my way to buy a hoop skirt but after test driving it I realized I took up way too much space and the poll I put out voted for using a petti too so I took the latter with me. it turned out for the better bc sitting during panels was Very Difficult LOLLL

bonus: calpak cube shilling

Bows!!

I've posted in my akane thread before but I'm pretty enamored with making them using giorgia costume's method www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTrA...

Lemons printed by Coco! I thought I'd have to do extra work with them but he had some translucent filament on hand and they look so good 🥹🙏

Chest ruffles were a gathered flounce in an attempt to reduce bulk. once I installed the lining it wouldnt stay down and i actl melted the fabric ironing it mnsdklje

Shirt collar: I have a short neck that I dislike so I try to make all my collars very short so my head doesn't float in selfies

If you've ever wondered whether or not you can simply use one side of your boot cover pattern the answer is yes but it makes the toe area lumpy - otoh it makes the pattern matching part easier! who's gonna look at your feet anyway!!
May 24, 2025 at 1:48 AM
First time I had to include a heel for the boot covers, was not fun! Interfaced and applied heat n bond vinyl over the organza in hopes of preserving them while out n about (acen was the worst place to test drive them bc I walked sooo mcuh...)

For the half ruffle skirt I followed the following video and took her flamenco comment more literally and used circles over rectangles. The template thing worked p well! Since it's ruffles, mistakes in length are ez to hide too 😀

Zest fabric is called "spark satin" by Crista. I tenso'd it from coscloth (it's just shiny organza lol). I was originally going double bias tape it but realized my layers wouldn't connect and might warp so I left the back open and sealed it with iron on hem tape instead

I was not prepared for how difficult it'd be to stuff everything under the machine to get in a tidy top stitch and had to roll and pray I didn't need another vinyl flattening session. Also had to cover my machine's light bc my astigmatism meant I couldnt see anything thru the reflection,,

Wedges! A lot of it was eyeballing what I liked and then doing lots of math to ensure my layering didn't go wayside with edges longer/shorter than the other (that did happen but was salvageable _(:з」∠)_

Matching patterns was super nervewracking but this blog made the most sense in my head and was easy to follow. Have multiple resources to deepen ur understanding before working on things! Works better than using chatgpt 🥸

The strap ruffles were a pain point bc I had this nice little circle flounce drawn up and it ended up way too short 🥹 so I skulked back to using a rectangle with rounded corners since it'd allow me to adjust the length as needed. Got real good at hiding mistakes when using rolled hem foot too!
May 24, 2025 at 1:48 AM
Sleeves! Search any "butterfly sleeve" pattern and you'll get a bunch of videos with similar steps. Setting them was kinda weird bc my front and back armscye totally do not line up but it worked itself out...

The rest of it is straightforward but required a lot of willpower LMAO

Opted for a 3/4 circle skirt to reduce fullness. Initially I was going to make the white top and gingham dress all one piece but changed the latter to a JSK for easy in & out (easier to deswea-
