You could make the argument that maybe that's what was called for, but I, for one, am glad they didn't take the bait. Bigger picture, I think it helped the country as a whole in the long term.

The state government in Minnesota kinda had to walk a fine line. If they got physical with ICE, they would've had the military on their door the next day. They didn't capitulate either, though they walked right up to the line. Best they could do without outright civil war.

By that, I mean that I meant no offense.

Again, I'm an American. Sounding like a dick is part of our dialect.

It was supposed to be starving, but autocorrect betrayed me in the 4th quarter, and we don't have edit buttons.

It's a tool for creators and a bane to drone workers. We'll figure out how to make more than slop eventually....I hope.
February 14, 2026 at 4:09 PM
We just saw that in Minnesota. They're not having any of that ICE shit from the feds and their sister states and municipalities have their fucking back. Now that's America.
February 14, 2026 at 3:58 PM
People are spoiled by how good some of our agencies are. They have no idea how fucked we'd be without them.
February 14, 2026 at 3:55 PM
That might be me. I ate this bot for breakfast, and it gave me gas.
February 14, 2026 at 3:53 PM
Epstein wasn't shipping over hordes of people in storage containers. The coastys have a very limited jurisdiction.they take the crimes on the water that's pretty much it.
February 14, 2026 at 3:52 PM
Idk, man, one of the absolute brilliant things about our country is how layered it is. We don't have to rely on the feds for everything. There's still state and local governments to fall back on. Kind of built-in networks in case of collapse.
February 14, 2026 at 3:48 PM
Not the good kind of attention either.
February 14, 2026 at 3:17 PM
So, sort of doomsday prepping?
February 14, 2026 at 3:12 PM
Put these things in Philly and I guarantee you'll understand where I'm coming from in a week.
February 14, 2026 at 3:10 PM
Well, I'm in the US, so I've no room to talk about healthcare, but it's my understanding that defibrillators are used in only very specific use cases.

I don't know if I feel comfortable having a random making that decision.

But you're living in a very different culture too.
February 14, 2026 at 3:10 PM
I don't really think I'm arguing just experiencing a bit of culture shock.
The entire concept seems schizophrenic from my perspective.
February 14, 2026 at 3:03 PM
Oh, sorry, I thought you were talking to me. I didn't even notice you talking to nutty up there.
February 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM
I kind of am, and not, tbh honest, I have a hard time finding a label. I land on wildly different places on the spectrum, depending on the issue being discussed. I some times just call myself a "logicist". Whoever has the best idea I'll listen to and if everyone's idea is shit I'll make one.
February 14, 2026 at 2:58 PM
Ah OK, so I'm misunderstanding you. That's the best case scenario. It's always a good idea to ask for clarity before insulting people. So what are you talking about?
February 14, 2026 at 2:53 PM
Ok, I can maybe see if there is no one coming in a reasonable amount of time. But still an insane amount of responsibility to put on civilians.

Down right terrifying to think the local drug addict might end up using it on me. You guys need to up your ambulance services.
February 14, 2026 at 8:45 AM
I'm not mad about it at all. Quite the opposite. It's a novelty to me. I find the entire concept to be utterly absurd. I'm enjoying learning more about it, but all the safety measures do little to change my mind that it is a seriously insane idea.
February 14, 2026 at 8:37 AM
Because you take the peace and quiet for granted.
February 14, 2026 at 8:00 AM
Nothing is impossible for the right moron. How often are these things even necessary?
February 14, 2026 at 7:46 AM
They're the COAST guard. Meaning their jurisdiction is the ocean. They're the sea cops. And sea firemen, and paramedics and park Rangers and every other emergency service on the water. We kind of need them.
