We live in Heaton Mersey. There's a path from Heaton Mersey Common down to Burnage Lane, from the site of where Reynolds Chain factory used to be. The path is commonly referred to as the Monkey Path. An old guy told my husband it was because it was where the factory workers used to 'monkey around'!
