Move the cobbled classics to the back of the calendar so the Vuelta can start a few weeks earlier than the Giro does now.

I doubt it. They seem to not be taking care of him very well. Instead of letting him recover properly, they just put him in races whenever he can be competitive. Even now, when he has the opportunity to rest, he's talking about starting his cx-season early.

That stage is in the route again next year, my opinion that the stage is too dangerous for the Tour still stands and if serious crashes happen (which will be the case with an entire peloton), I will blame everyone that hyped up this stage afterwards.
November 8, 2025 at 11:53 AM
Well guess what, that ceremonial stuff still happened during this year's Paris stage and I heard no one complain about it afterwards.
So I guess my opinion is that everyone that thinks this stage was actually a success is an hypocritical idiot.
November 8, 2025 at 11:29 AM
Where are all the people that complained before, they just changed their opinion?
Also, for years, I heard everyone complain about how the Paris stage was boring because of the ceremonial stuff happening in the first part of the stage.
November 8, 2025 at 11:29 AM
My point is that the stage was too dangerous to send an entire peloton though, like people pointed out before the Tour, and the only reason no serious crashes happened was because they neutralised the times for no valid reason. But now everyone seems to have accepted it.
November 8, 2025 at 11:28 AM
The Tour is 21 stages long and every stage should be treated as equal, so if the Paris stage should be neutralised because of rain, then mountain stages should also be neutralised for that reason. And I think we can agree that would be stupid.
November 8, 2025 at 11:28 AM
Since rain is a common weather phenomenon, that's a bullshit reason to neutralise GC-times. That meant that the Tour was done the day before the final stage, for absolutely no good reason.
November 8, 2025 at 11:28 AM
People complained beforehand about the dangerous route of that stage, but the organisers didn't listen. Then, before the stage was supposed to be ridden, the organisers realised the stage was too dangerous because of the rain and decided to neutralise the times.

Stages 6, 10, 11, 15, 16, 18 and 20 were all 100x more interesting to watch, but everyone only talks about a half-ridden stage with 1 serious attack.
November 7, 2025 at 7:47 PM
Also the fact that 80% of the peloton didn't even put in any effort anymore and could finish anywhere (even OTL) without it affecting the GC. The Tour ended after stage 20, this might as well have been a post-Tour criterium.
November 7, 2025 at 7:43 PM
People need to get over that Paris stage, it wasn't that spectacular. 60km's of racing with barely any attacks and in the end WVA (on a terrain that suits him perfectly) drops Pogacar, who had been racing for the GC the entire Tour and apparently had physical issues.
November 7, 2025 at 7:40 PM
If spectators would just behave, there wouldn't be any need to "privatise" the climbs. They have been acting like assholes for decades, they shouldn't start complaining when it comes to bite them in their ass. Take accountability, ffs.

As long as they use that money to provide extra safety and security, I support this idea. I'm sick of seeing these 'fans' bother the riders and block the road.

There's a lot more to cycling than W/kg and a lot of flat roads as well.

Juniors race against other juniors, there's really no way of knowing how that will translate to the WT. And I don't think the general public's opinion is a good indicator either.
November 5, 2025 at 4:45 PM
But again, there's no way of knowing that a year prior. They could have promoted him during the season as well.
