Cybersecurity expert and inventor. I ride horses.
Rode 2 of my horses today! The rain was much needed and I’m also happy that both horses were very good despite the pause in routine. Im often asked what I do when I’m not working on cybersecurity… the answer is horses :) 🐴💛

Isn't this a coup?
This story is bananas.

"A team including current and former employees of Musk assumed command of OPM on Jan. 20 ... They have moved sofa beds onto the fifth floor of the agency's headquarters, which contains the director's office and can only be accessed with a security badge or a security escort."
Exclusive: Musk aides lock government workers out of computer systems at US agency, sources say
Aides to Elon Musk charged with running the U.S. government human resources agency have locked career civil servants out of computer systems that contain the personal data of millions of federal employees, according to two agency officials.

I remember trying out Open AI years ago before it hit the zeitgeist. I try new things to see their potential. I saw how AI could be used for lots of things but the more I experimented with LLM tech, the more I realized Data Strategy was going to be the real bottleneck. 1/

Developers by default implement Queue systems to send alerts. What if there were laws ex. “App Queue systems must adhere to the Main System Setting Preference“ so if your phone or laptop says “Don’t bother me” then log alert but don’t bombard you. Laws that protect user experience are the panacea.
I am tired of being basically gangstalked by technology. It isn't acceptable and should be punishable by law.

I want to thank the Los Angeles County ebook library for making it possible for me to finish the 10th prequel novel to Dune. I enjoyed “House Harkonnen” and the build up to Frank Herbert’s “Dune” already feels like the books are flying by too quickly. Now on to “House Corrino”! #Dune #SciFi #Book

Me: What are you thankful for this year? I’m thankful for Game 5 of the World Series, 5th inning.

@volcanojess.com : is that really what you are thankful for?

Me: Yes.

I am officially in Venmo Jail—is this just me? All payments get declined and support doesn’t know why. My bank doesn’t know why. Venmo declines my transactions (tried different amounts and tried to pay different people). I am verified and have never had issues. ?!?! #Venmo #VenmoJail #Broken

@newsbeagle.bsky.social Great article that evaluates the risk of AI technology. Advocating for this transparency will empower those doing the safety work and reduce optics of being seen as a nuisance by peers. spectrum.ieee.org/amp/ai-safet...

The #IoT showed us interconnected devices were sitting targets for massive DDoS weaponization. Vendors have enough work to make things function let alone to also preempt nefarious attack vectors. Looks like #AI robots will be a repeat of #InternetOfThings
Scientists prove 100% success rate hacking AI robots, making them commit violence. More disturbing: When asked to harm, AI eagerly suggested creative methods. We didn't just open Pandora's box—we gave it autonomous weapons. The question isn't if they'll turn, but when.

#GenAI guesses are really about the distance between one data point and the next. Be it pixel, or letter. About 20 data sets gets “good enough”. For filling in the gaps, #AI has a use but to rely on it to complete a process or replace logic is a recipe for disaster.
Not sure who needs to hear this, but: AI doesn't know the answers. It just guesses, and it's not actually that great at guessing.
