@mrjamesob.bsky.social Online safety act being stymied in the US because it's got the same existential issues as US gun laws: 'guns don't kill people but people do'... If social media can be proved to be the weapon, then they can be sued for not acting. Therefore ultimately it IS money, again.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Great show... with regards to community etc - social media creates a false community where you're mostly still on your own. This makes the 'my' more important than the communal ie shared spaces and how to behave in them. Maybe its why MySpace was called that? Iain

@mrjamesob.bsky.social SUVs not only got higher but wider too. Higher makes for more pedestrian danger. Wider makes for tougher parking and probably increased obesity... and harder to park in most parking spaces which haven't changed in size

Sadly I think Trump is now beyond kompromat,but is happy to utilise it on others, because they have conscience (however diminished). Otherwise it's an addiction to causing chaos.
