If said woman really was a teacher her behaviour is not that expected of someone in the profession and she could find herself under investigation by the General Teaching Council (if you still have one in England), racist remarks could find her struck off!

I think there's an argument for a new offence which lies somewhere between 'terrorist' and 'attempted murder' one, like the LNER attack, which I think should carry a mandatory life sentence, as should any 'terrorist' attacks.

I never knew that!

In Scotland we used to have 'guisers' not trick or treat and lanterns were carved out of neeps (turnips to the uninitiated 😊), which was a major undertaking to get them carved out. Guisers were expected to sing a song, tell jokes or similar to earn a treat.

I worked in PPP/PFI schools, they are a disgrace, poor build quality, far too small, cold in winter, too hot in summer, a really bad deal for the taxpayer.

8 seasons is some achievement Paul, and not a single 'meh' episode amongst them, many I've listened to more than once. In Naval speak Bravo Zulu.

Regarding unlucky names, I served in HMS Ardent in the Falklands, she was the third in a row bearing that name to be sunk in action.

I worked in PFI schools they are cheaply built, too small, leak like sieves, too hot in summer too cold in winter, badly equipped, poorly cleaned, poorly maintained, yet the local council has to pay an ever increasing amount to the building consortium for 35 years! Not a good deal for the tax payer!

I recall when the cup was in the lounge bar of the West Auland working men's club, unfortunately stolen many years ago

And while that's true, as a recently retired teacher, I can tell the difference in behaviour and attention span of a hungry child to a well fed one.

Well said Paul.

Although a lot of the public did point that fact out to the government at the time and also subsequently.

Wonder how he'll cope with re-runs of Band of Brothers?

Just wait until Farage and his bunch of sycophants get their hands on it
May 5, 2025 at 8:49 AM
Ooft! I'd love that, would I be seen as a traitor as I work for another tour company?

It's also usually a great excuse to buy yet another WW1 or WW2 book!
