Surrey and England cricket. So addicted I am also a life member of Middlesex. England and WHU football. Friend of Bletchley Park and British Museum
Sam Curran was in the ODI and T20 squads going to New Zealand. Something happened?

I'm sure we could have gotten even more than 5500 at T20 finals day if it was the Bares

It was stated at the Surrey forum that there will be a separate Hundred TV contract, so 80% can be allocated to the franchises. (80 might be wrong, but it is what I scribbled)

Good, but make it the last 3 that count for WTC, then there are no dead rubbers in longer series

I see Ravi Ashwin wants to carry on playing some club cricket. I think we have a perfect slot for him at @kiaoval.com with #surreycricket

The irony is that it sounds like classic "English" conditions. Unfortunately being able to play lateral movement is no longer a criteria for England test selection.

As one of the few surviving members of the England branch of the campaign for real openers, I have to point out that the lesson from this match is the advantage of batting time against this dangerous but aging Australian seam attack.

I make that just over 30,000 fans of each of the other premier league clubs

I hope Bethell does well, because failure will dent his confidence in all formats. His repeated failures to cope with county attacks in red ball cricket make it a very odd decision. At best huge disrespect to NZ, treating the whole series as a warmup for 2025

The conditions on day 1, favour the quick bowlers to a ridiculous extent. It might be an excitingly close 3 day game, but not what we want from a test match.

It's why I struggle to take Women's tests seriously. Even if they paired up the new tier one teams and just played 3 rnds it would be something. National counties play a 3 day tournament without professional players, so there is no excuse for the tier one teams not playing a 3 day tournament.

It is clearly much fairer on the teams in the bottom seeding pot. I worry that the final rounds of matches will be damp squibs because it doesn't matter whether you finish 1st or 8th, etc

You've been lucky so far. Many of your jokes are crimes against comedy 🤣

It may be an age thing. In the 70s there was still the idea of things all 3 generations could do together without a load of electronics. So I learnt to play Whist and Euchre as well as Rummy and Newmarket. I am sure that it would have been Bridge in many "middle-class" families
November 17, 2024 at 5:29 AM
Yes I still play bridge. There are clubs and leagues. A lot stayed online after covid, but there are still face to face clubs and social bridge for those who want some time away from their devices.

I think confusion has arisen because the public plans for the 2025 and 2026 rounds are so vague.

The right answer is Chanderpaul. I was surprised at how close Waugh's stats are. I guess you can argue for Clarke's 60+ average, but I go mainly for test quantity. I disqualified AB, because he scored less than half his runs at 5!
