Very simplistic set of calculations but it is clear that someone at basic rate has more taken out of their salary to get to the same pension pot after 20 years. Surely that isn't fair.
Obviously: I might have made errors with the calculation which might make this statement wrong.

Loved that pub. Used to be our lunchtime venue in the days workers could easily have three pints at lunchtime.

I currently “benefit” from this 40p tax break and will unlikely pay 40% when I take my pension. I support this change

But those professionals would be in the upper bracket and most would then only pay tax at the basic rate unless they had put a lot into their pot. So they are getting a benefit.

19th Sep 1998 my and my mate got box tickets at Elland Rd to see LUFC v AVFC. He a spurs fan and me a SAFC fan. We got there early and wondered if instead we should carry on to Sunderland to watch the Oxford game.
We didn’t….. saw out a boring 0-0 then found that SAFC won 7-1
