An actual, textual case of 'maybe those children just had bad vibes'.

So if you stitch together the Medea myths, she accidentally killed several of her fourteen kids by trying to give them the favour of the gods, then received that divine favour herself when she killed two more of them deliberately? Well then.

Comparable amounts of ham, at least.

I suppose this rather depends on how well Streeting has convinced the Number Ten clique that (a) he should be Starmer's heir, and (b) this should happen any time soon.

Intensely lesbian musicals have been the primary Takarazuka brand since 1913. Their secondary brand is intensely lesbian non-musicals. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takaraz...

The average James Bond lasts 1/4 of a movie. MI6 recruitment and training is very efficient.

I like the idea that 'James Bond' is just the default identity package for Agent 007. Like how parents give goldfish the same name to avoid explaining to their kids why their pet was floating upside-down for a while.

To put it another way, he knows what side he should be on, but he's not all that great at fighting for that side.

Yeah, one thing about CP2077 is that while listening to Johnny is often a good idea, uncritically following his advice isn't. The game really rubs it in that he trod your path before you and failed, mostly thanks to his own underexamined prejudices.

Of course they are. All that money means they face less consequences for stupidity.

SoftBank is also notorious for throwing good money after bad in their investments, so if they're getting cold feet...

I guess it's maybe more relevant on modern Xitter, where there will probably be a steady stream of Nazis propositioning you, although that raises the question of why you're spending any real time on there in the first place.

Though Option B (what seems to have actually happened) seems fair enough - as a new and clueless alien ally to the crusade in an interplanar war, she was an easy target for standard demonic propaganda. Damning paladins but having them kill a prospective new recruit? Double win!

'Hollywood child celebrities with superpowers' could get real dark real fast.

OTOH, regular exposure to demons does include regular exposure to demonic propaganda. I bet factchecking in a forever war against the literal legions of hell gets pretty wild.

Though I think we should stress that those polls are a measure of voting intention, so it's hard to say how much of the 15% is from actual enthusiasm and how much is from big-party inertia. They're likely to plummet even harder if the Greens continue to prove tactical voting for Labour is dead.

There was a reason much of the postwar reaction was 'yes, thank you for defeating fascism, now please fuck off'.

Yea, this does eventually lead to the kinda-sorta redemption of the fucking Carnage symbiote.
November 9, 2025 at 12:52 PM
The Spider-Gwen alternate universe (the comic that Spider-Verse Gwen was based on) has an even more delightfully messed up version. When Gwen gets Venom'd and dragged into the horrible world of symbiote politics, MJ (her high-school rival with a secret crush) gets semi-willingly turned into Carnage.

She also has 0.42 base Love (on a scale of zero to one) for literally every other character, which is less than anyone else (except Chipie - 0.40 - and Comet - 0.42) feels towards her.
November 9, 2025 at 9:11 AM
She's one of three characters in the game who you can't even gain the hidden Love stat with via unique events (with generic Love-increasing actions only offering the usual tiny gains), regardless of what you do and what gender you present as.

I mean, you say this, but the ta'lissera has been a key Tau concept (and gameplay mechanic) from day one. They trade 'bonding knives' rather than rings, which is delightfully 40k.

I disagree, because those ads were made by talented artists who would have actually steered away from making the expression look quite so horrifying. Yes, I know about The Spirits Within. I stand by my point.
