just write and draw the stuff that makes you happy. the stuff that gives you that obsessed feeling. indulge yourself, bro. I mean it. go OFF. use those favourite and familiar tropes, archetypes, designs, who cares? if it gets you creating, that's all that matters, because that's a special thing

Fun is not the same as happy.

Wrote something I really like this morning. God, what a feeling.

This writing thing gets a lot harder when the people around you don't believe in you. Sigh.

Being a writer means doing your daily shift even when you're alone in the house and nobody else will know or care whether you did. Yeah, I cranked out 900 words or so. Felt reasonably up to snuff.

Writing this book feels like putting one foot in front of the other constantly with no clear end in sight and just hoping you don't stray from the very narrow path you're on. Or, at least, not straying too far from the path.

I'm currently working on my first fantasy novel and I'm thinking of using this platform to journal my thoughts and experiences on the craft. Plus some other life stuff. Let's see how it pans out. 😅

writers and artists will go "this isn't good enough." my brother in christ, you're creating something new out of nothing and expressing yourself creatively. your productivity and unrealistic standards of perfection do not define you or the worth of your art. you're doing great.

When I turned 40, I had 320 short story rejections and no books published. A few years later, I've published a short story collection and two novels with another on the way. Believe in yourself like someone who loves you.
