my goal is to make Master Chief's armor from Halo Infinite, and have it actually be armor, not just a costume. I'd like it to hold up to playing paintball, so here is what happens to 3d printed armor after 3 shots, in glorious 960fps.
This is why despite the prints being done, I have a ways to go.

Almost done with the 1/2 set I am planning on using for sizing. Helmet and other arm bits are printed but need assembly.

Important to note that this is still super, super far from being a reality. This is the first step on what will probably be a year-long journey.

had the new printer for just about a week and I have pretty much an entire leg done. upper and lower leg are a little big at 96% scale, waist is quite a bit too small at 94%. I plan on printing the torso at 95% scale, and going from there.
these prints are fantastic quality tho for being "drafts"

this is a good number, has an equal number of even and odds, digits 2 and 3 add to get digits 4 and 5. and everyone loves an 8. To top it off, look at that, its an odd number. what a number this number is - #866,331

I think I might like MGF

took an idea to paper and then from paper to an object. Needed a router template bushing for some upcoming projects. Could I have purchased one for $9 locally? yes. Did I instead spend 4 hours and $4 worth of 6061 to make my own? also yes.

Here's an interior shot. Windows still need sills and trim, and I have to figure out what I am going to do with the bench/bed thing to make it into usable storage.
But so far, it has reduced my sense of impending doom, so that is nice.

days ?-?? out of ???. My mental health is slowly recovering and impending doom seems less...right here. Outside has some additional roof things, trim, caulk, and paint, and then it will be done. Inside will be a bear. Taking a break for now to go be in the woods and work on something unrelated.
