Do it! Needing to be familiar with the terminal isn't super important anymore as most distros offer GUI frontends for common settings. Good choices for novices include Fedora, Linux Mint, Zorin, and if you're a gamer, Nobara or Bazzite.

Sadly, there is no good alternative on Linux or any OS. I've tried them all and LRC's RAW rendering is peerless. It's the only reason I still pay Adobe for a subscription lol (I run it on my mac)

Nice! What distro did you choose? Yeah windows update is nigh impossible to turn off permanently. The best way to do it is ditch the damn OS lol

I refuse to have any “smart” internet connected cameras on my premise for this reason. Like the seeing stones of LOTR, you never know who is watching 👀
