We have a revised opening time of 13.30.. Baz is going to be kicking things off on stage at 13.45, Caesar will be on at 13.50 and British Birds will knock your socks off at 14.05. All times are ‘ish’, of course, but we’ll make sure you can get out in time for the football at 15.00 sharp.

There's our usual pies, cheese and tater ash and just to really lay it on for them, we've a treat from Blaine – he’s just had an ankle op (removing his tag, we hear) – to celebrate he’s chucked us a bottle of his home-made brown sauce. So, when Stu recommends mint sauce on your peas tell him to GTF.

British Birds have toured with The Lovely Eggs, The Bug Club and BC Camplight, and shared live sessions on Riley & Coe (BBC 6 Music) and John Kennedy (Radio X).

Our debut guest beer is Seven Brothers’ New England Pale. It’s a pale ale, you know? We also have our old pals, Fool’s Gold and Red Rebel.

Our band this week is the highly-touted British Birds, in their own words, “From the homogenous grey fizz of cloud hanging over deepest Lancashire spring uplifting, mad-cowbell infused, self-unconscious British Birds.”

Our poet for Saturday, Caesar, hails from Bolton and one half of the esteemed Poetry Place. He’s taken his words across the UK, from Manchester International Festival, Black Fest, Blur the Lines and the Museum of Science and Industry just to name a few.

There will be a very limited number of physical copies under the stand. It’s a privilege to witness their development. And I’m a fussy old twat, so this is heart-felt.
We’re currently truffle-pigging for a spoken word act. Is your Mam a comedian? Is your Dad a poet? Get in touch....

Which is great as we have a great band returning, with a beefier, more mature sound. They’re also doing the du. Ventrelles are one of those bands who positively chime with this thing of ours.
They have a single, ‘Emily’s Song’ out on 31 October lnk.to/ventrelles and it’s great.....

We’ll have the usual mix of stodge and liquid on Saturday. Rose is cooking pies; cheese or tater hash. Stu is cooking peas; mushy. Lynette is cooking muffins; flavour TBC. And there will be some ale going on.
Forget your season ticket, it’s a cup game....
