[June 20th, 1925] Professor Josef Breuer, 83, has died after a long illness in Vienna, Austria. Breuer was acknowledged by Sigmund Freud as the founder of psychoanalysis and a source of his fundamental ideas.

Today is April 13. On this date in 1901 philosopher Jacques Lacan was born. Referred to as “the French Freud,”an important figure in the history of psychoanalysis. His work explored the significance of Freud’s discovery of the unconscious in connection with a wide range of other disciplines.
