I'm in a similar boat (haha) with hobgoblins. They're another one we've been told are experimental but then Undermine(d) seemed to say otherwise (more vague than Gilblins, BUT STILL)

is this partially spurred because i think they should bite the metaphorical bullet and give us one-handed guns that can be equipped with an offhand (shield is the obvious choice but like imagine gun with an offhand dagger or whatever)... yes. 2/3

seriously though they're a melee spec, tend to - already - have way higher survivability in more situations (i mean its kinda in the name) than BM or MM in my experience (playing mostly surv since legion)

and the HUGE amount of changes coming for them in midnight that i've been playing around- 1/3
