Winter is coming in the northern coastal mountains.
Super brutal. I was expecting them to score the winner before regulation ended though.

Thanks. It looked so easy when I was reviewing YouTube videos lol. It took a lot longer than I was expecting (7 min video set some unrealistic expectations), but I’m really happy with the end result.

There’s significantly less stuff all over the garage. Worked out better than I was expecting.

Our pickling cucumbers didn’t grow well in our garden this year so no new pickles in this Canadian household.

Everyone I know personally who makes that sort of coin is weird in different, but similar fuck you I got mine sort of way.

Well yeah, that’s about the least surprising part of this story.

and b) to incentivize me into using alternative transportation options that range from impractical to simply unavailable because of where I choose to live.

Did I get that mostly right?

Ok, so bringing this back to the original topic. If I understand everything correctly, I should have my ICBC rates increased so a) public transit services I have no access to can provide better services at lower cost to predominantly low income urbanites

I was unaware of that. I guess I can blame the province for how little maintenance and plowing our roads receive. I always assumed it was a local issue. I suppose it makes sense. We’re far away and it’s easy for the bureaucracy in Victoria ignore us, we only have one MLA for the entire region.

I am under the impression that my property taxes support the town and regional district to pay for those local services. Seems unlikely to me that’s a cost that is subsidized by the lower mainland tax base.

I can’t speak to the maintenance costs of highways 5 or 8, I assume both are incredibly far away from me, and I’m not even sure where highway 8 even goes off the top of my head. We have one highway (16) and it feels like it’s predominantly used to move stuff from Prince Rupert to the rest of Canada.

I started to drive significantly less when I moved out of the city into a small town, but I understand I could be the exception rather than the rule.

With that said, I’m trying to understand why rural roads cost more to maintain if there fewer people using them?
