They accepted, she drove them to Vermont, wished them well, and headed back.

A woman at a nearby table overheard them talking and offered to drive them home--a more than 3-hour roundtrip drive for her. And she had small children with her! She said "I would want someone to do it for my parents if they were in this situation."

Yeah, that kitchen is a bit grim.
