I have settled on an idea for it and plan on working on it soon.

In addition to this, I have an idea for a painting I want to make. I haven't really made a straight-up painting in several years, but I feel like moving paint on a canvas. Going to work on something large.

I also recalculated how game demos factored into my tracking. I am now keeping them separate. This helps tone down inflating games I played and finished.

I'm still a ways from getting over 50%, but it isn't nearly as bleak looking as it was last year.

To put it bluntly: I beat games.

I focused on games in my backlog. Stuff I had played, sometime ago (sometimes decades ago) and powered through them. I looked at games I could also cheese my way through. The goal wasn't really to have a good time, but to just get through stuff ASAP.

Eventually I was topdecking and didn't get any burn spells. I was the 1st person eliminated, but the game wrapped up quickly afterward. Getting everyone down to low life is the goal. Forcing my opponents to figure out how to deal with me, or take advantage of the situation, is part of the fun.

...tapped nonbasic lands for damage. This shut down half the table. Also, no one was running enchantment removal. And people weren't attacking my open board since other players were gaining life, so I was generally seen as not a threat. Even after doing 12 damage to each opponent off one spell.

I was rocking a PDH deck again but this time it went better for me. Lifelink is still annoying to deal with. Eventually I ran out gas and wasn't able to keep up with everyone else. I didn't have enough of my big creatures in play.

I had a way to get in a free 20 damage. His 37 damage would've been free too but he was scare of losing his creature...but he ended up losing it the next turn anyway. We could've gotten the Danitha player from 68 to 9 but noooo.

The game went poorly for me anyway. I didn't pop off. Oh well.

I was rocking a PDH deck and it definitely felt that way this game. Danitha player had a severe life lead. Shelob and Mimeo were playing defensively, much to my chagrin. Mimeo had a 37/37 Consuming Aberration and never swung.

So now I am playing the game with other people and seeing the hype. My goals are to beat all 3 episodes on Ultimate difficulty. I have technically already done this, but I want to be more active and not just getting carried. The other goal is to get the Sealed J-Sword.

Now I don't have to actively play during the early game. I can be carried and power level so I can play the "real" game. They also do a rotating weekly modifier to make things a little fresh, so there's an EXP boost, drop rate boost, etc.

After playing on Ephinea and seeing an active community, I'm starting to see more about what makes the game fun. However, I should note that Ephinea isn't a 1:1 of the original game. There are some tweaks that make it better. For me, shared EXP is a big boon.

And that's where I stayed! Learned more about the game during that time and got a taste for online play. However, the population back then was dwindling. Maybe 100 people on a good day. These days, we're lucky to see 12 during an event.

But that EXP boost was great!

Background: All of my experience with PSO prior to 2018 was offline only. I played split-screen or I played solo. The "online" part of the game was unknown to me. I then tried out Ultima for two reasons 1) Permanent EXP boost and 2) Didn't get flagged as malware.
