Speaking as a book publicist, this will give him more attention. Boycotting the event could be more powerful OR try to get the venue to cancel and offer to buy other books

Contact the stores and ask them to cancel. Offer to buy other books. Shut the tour down and deprive him of sales and attention.

LAUSD is not perfect but at least they’ve been proactive about distributing red cards to students and families informing them of their rights. Several highschool students in LA have also staged walkouts protesting ICE raids specifically but this hasn’t been reported much which is unfortunate
