Exciting thesis defense at our department today, Adele Macuite is defending her work on ”Tiny titans: Impact of meiofauna diversity and activity on coastal sediment biogeochemistry”.

Attending a 2-day conference on systematics and it’s a wonderful mix of presentations on everything from fungi to trees via cute lizards and pretty flowers. Here’s @mucofloris.bsky.social presenting the deep sea animals.

First PCR in the shiny new labs in Natrium, MSc student Mimmi is going to sequence DNA from deep-sea bivalves (CCZ, around 4000 m depth).
