Another White-letter Hairstreak today, this time in the top of a tall Elm in Milton Country Park (excuse the poor photo through a spotting scope). No luck with Purple Hairstreak yet, despite sightings elsewhere in Cambs @bc-cambs-essex.bsky.social @epollard.bsky.social @andrewknights.bsky.social

Lots of butterflies about today to the north of Cambridge, including my first ever White-Letter Hairstreak (after lots of searching over recent summers) in a small clump of elms next to the A10, plus this pair of Large Skippers in Landbeach @epollard.bsky.social @bc-cambs-essex.bsky.social

Still spaces on my butterfly walk at Magog Down near Cambridge tomorrow (Sunday 1st). Sunny but a little blustery.
Looking good for Small Blue, as well as possible Green Hairstreak and Marbled White.
