It really was though! It caused a team schism the next year because so many of the players wanted to go and they viewed the people who didn’t want to go as “uncommitted” - which was actually probably true because a ton of the players who voted no transferred in the spring.

I mean some players actually like playing the sport! It’s not all a business decision!

Honestly it would make sense for his pro stock. He could post way better numbers in Big 12 weather and against Big 12 defenses.

He also played football for four different high schools in four years and changed his recruiting commitment three times. He hops around.

I would say there is a 90% chance he leaves and if so it would come this week, maybe today. I’ve heard rumors of Texas Tech and Oregon, but who knows.

When Dayton Raiola decommitted it raised an eyebrow, when they fired his uncle as OL coach it made me fairly certain it was a done deal.

Welllllll Utah is favored by 14 and my honest assessment is that I’d still take Utah so probably not unfortunately. Going out to see a real game is one thing, going out to see my depleted team get absolutely dog walked is another.

Notre Dame missed the playoffs!

I bet there are some- Nebraska voted to not go to a bowl game in the weird Covid season and it was like 55/45. Some of the players still complain about it today.

I would guess that across CFB more players would want to play in a bowl than not.
December 8, 2025 at 2:17 PM
I didn’t know they voted, but I know a lot of players do enjoy going to bowls. I have directly spoken to one who said he loved them. For him at least, the bowls weren’t a scam. He was never going to go pro.
December 8, 2025 at 6:35 AM
Are they scams? What about players who actually enjoy playing the game? They get a trip and a prize package and- for all the upperclassmen players who aren’t going pro- one last time to get on the field.

To be fair they aren’t buying the whole company, they’re mostly buying the directly competition brand and the intellectual property. It actually seems like a smart business deal to me?

My guess is that Netflix just gets bigger, HBO is swept into the dustbin of history, and Netflix slowly ups prices

On the bright side rules textbooks in the future will have a perfect example of “crown of helmet to head or neck area” for aspiring refs to study.

I feel as bad as Jacori Barney when he was definitely *not* targeted on this play

Magnificent.

I think as a 5 star who has had some production he would find a new home fairly easily. The real question is whether he would be willing to go to a top-flight program and fight for a job or if he would transfer to a program like Baylor or something for a guaranteed starting job.

He might think he would be a better fit in other offenses with better offensive lines. He would put up better numbers at Ohio State.

At Nebraska he has been ok but not great. Small sample size but Lateef looks better in the offense.

Dylan also transferred four times in HS…
