In less than 2 hours plantiffs did what others failed to do in past lawsuits ... hold his feet to the fire. No more saying one thing to a judge and the opposite to America.

I largely agree with this thread, but how do we fix the problem?
So many white people are so invested in their racism, that they would literally rather disenfranchise themselves rather than fight for equity and risk a Black person beating them up the social ladder.

One thing I think people talking about the threat of authoritarian creep have gotten, if not exactly wrong, not quite right either is to frame discussion in terms of various European precedents.
Those are relevant to be sure, but we also have an American precedent - namely the South before 1965.
