Is there some way we can effectively boycott the insurance companies? Like organize outside of insurance to cover each other's costs in a co-op sort of arrangement and pay everything out of pocket? Idk...but something has to change.

I agree. When I think of Mamdani's "platform" or "method" I think of his advocacy for working people. Working people in the south want to be able to afford rent and groceries and to take their sick kid to the doctor too. To overlook this common factor we all have seems ridiculous.

I actually also wonder if, because Autism is genetic and Autistic people can be extra sensitive to sensory experiences, have hyper mobility, etc...perhaps pregnant mothers who are themselves Autistic (and therefore more likely to have Autistic babies) might be more likely to use Tylenol.

To me, making sure people are fed and housed in times of need is the number one reason I want a government at all. The whole point of government is for us to work together to ensure that we raise the bar for everyone and make sure we aren't all at the mercy of someone's whim (or not) to be gracious.

Trying to discourage everyone is worse than doing fuck all. People have to be encouraged and motivated in order to act. Gathering together is important and sends a message to the powers that be in a way that is also important. It isn't the only thing to do, but it isn't nothing either.

I always tell my kids that you can't be courageous without also being scared. Courage doesn't exist unless fear also exists. So it is ok to be afraid...fear doesn't disqualify you from being brave.
