Excited to have my first piece with @liberalcurrents.com, I look at the inherent contradictions and difficulties of conservative abundance in theory and practice. It’s difficult to prioritize innovation and growth when it collides headfirst with your maintain (or creating) your ideal social order.
"The problem is that these values lead to conservatives engaging in 'Yes, but…' thinking. Yes, building more homes and increasing housing density would be great, but…it would sure be nice if more people moved out of the cities and stayed in single-family homes."
Is Abundance Based?

This is a great piece but I just want to note that we should never reason from prices alone. Part of the difference in home prices is that people want to live in one area (many reasons: aesthetics, opportunities etc.). To get the full picture you have to look at the quantity of houses too.
"The median price of a home in California is $869,000. In Texas it is $349,000."

A Shadow Cabinet is a great way for the party out of power to offer clear communications and political positions whatever’s going on in the news cycle.
